theog that is not showing up in restore backup either, is there a way to click a file in the back up to set it off restoring itself to the c drive as the back up partion seems invisible to windows rstore options but can access it no problem via windows explorer/my computer options?

back to square 1 with the same problem

by late last night had completed a fresh instal on Windows 7 added all updates and a few programs, had various restarts all ok.
got up this morning back to square one "boot selection failed because a required device is inaccesable" error 0x000000e.
all repair options with Windows 7 dvd fail, bios will boot into windows dvd options but not the hard drive unless i reinstal windows from scratch.
seems when the pc is off overnight the problem returns. I can only think it needs a new hdd i presently have a sata hdd and a secondry eide hdd, could a fault of a secondry hdd mess up the main hdd.
any other ideas please prior to bedtime last night had the pc running perfect and rebooting ok.

I would Check the hard drives with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

theog i will try those tools later today.

another strange twist after leaving the pc on with the error screen for a while re tried via repair option and got a screen pop up saying windows needs to repair in order to start windows[ not seen this before in all the attemps] i hit enter and got into windows tried a few restarts to push my luck and restarted ok but slow between bios screen and windows.

now do not want to power off i feel if pc gets cold itmay cause the problems again.

the Windows 7 image restore programe still cannot see the partition i use for backup on the secondary hdd, but windows explorer & my computer has no problems seems very odd.

does this give any indication to the cause of the problem.
