In your situation, I would restore to Vista or reinstall Windows.
There may be some other way out, but we have no way of knowing what damage you have already caused.
You could try other things or keep hoping someone will solve it for you, but given your inexperience you are probably better off starting over. That's what recovery partitions are for.
You should certainly have the Windows 7 upgrade disk that the tech used to upgrade you from Vista.
