Hello everyone, I have a proble I could not google out so I decided to register and ask you about it.
I have a SSD drive (C:) where Win 7 runs. I moved my Users, Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders to a secondary drive (D:).
I made weekly backups of C: and D: drives (no system image, just files and folder backup) with the windows 7 backup wizard to an external usb drive.
Yesterday my D: drive died. I installed a new drive which is my new D: drive and proceeded to do a restore from the external drive to this new D: drive through win 7 restore wizard.
The problem is that now some .exe files are missing! For example I have WAMP installed and httpd.exe and mysqld.exe were missing (they run as service) and all other exes in same folder were there. vmplayer.exe is missing. If I try to run Word I get some error that some data is missing.
Does anyone have any clues on how this happened? In backup options I had the "D:" drive ticked and I thought windows backup & restore would do a FULL backup of every single file and folder on it. This seems to not have been the case since I'm missing files.
What went wrong? Does anyone have any ideas on how to find what else is missing and how to fix office? Also I don't ever remember the backup wizard reporting any failures at backing up any of those files.
Thank you for all your answers in advance.
