Restoring using OEM Recovery Partition
i need to restore my other laptop using OEM Recovery Partition. it is a Gateway laptop running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. it wont boot at all, just goes to a black screen with nothing on it. I can access the setup menu (F2) and change the boot up settings to make it boot from CD (which i created using this ASUS laptop, also a Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.)
-It brings me to System Recovery Options.
-Ran Start-up Repair - 4 times w/ restarts in between (says windows should boot okay, doesn't boot thou)
-Tried System Restore (Failed)
-I know where my System Image is.
-I can access Command Prompt from here.
-I got it to access the Advanced Boot Options menu, but their is no Repair your Computer option. But having trouble getting it back to this menu again.
-I know their is a OEM Recovery Partition but i don't know how to get it to work from CMD.
-I recently wiped and repaired the ASUS computer using the OEM Recovery Partition on it, As it crashed a few weeks ago.
-if I wipe it clear using format option in CMD, will i lose the OEM Recovery Partition?
