Windows 7: System Restore only shows limited restore points

I am running Windows 7 and Windows XP on two different external hard drives. They both are independent. I set up the dualboot using EasyBCD where I can choose which OS to start.

Try an experiment. Make a couple of restore points in Windows7. Boot XP. Boot back into Windows7. See if they have disappeared.

You were right. The restore points seems to have been deleted after I logged into XP and then back into Windows 7.

I have XP and Windows 7 on partitions of the same disk. Brink put me onto the solution as shown in his tutorial. I prefer to be able to access files from each partition while booted to the other. I just put up with it. When I boot back into Windows7 I make a restore point right away. Plus I have backup images if something should happen in the interim.
