Are you booting more than on OS by any chance? If you boot XP and it can see Vista or Windows 7 partition it will think those restore points are corrupted and delete them. The format has changed a bit so it doesn't recognize them as valid.
I am running Windows 7 and Windows XP on two different external hard drives. They both are independent. I set up the dualboot using EasyBCD where I can choose which OS to start.

I got that option after I ran sfc/scannow yesterday and I was able to see more restore points if you notice from my earlier snips from this thread. I just ran SFC/scannow again and it showed that windows did not find any integration , etc.

I have XP and Windows 7 on partitions of the same disk. Brink put me onto the solution as shown in his tutorial. I prefer to be able to access files from each partition while booted to the other. I just put up with it. When I boot back into Windows7 I make a restore point right away. Plus I have backup images if something should happen in the interim.
