Acer Aspire Z5610. Can not load operating system from DVD

    Hi guys.

I will apologise now i really am a noob here ive done a lot of researching on forums and found some great help so full respect for all you guys you really do know your stuff.

I have recently purchased an Acer Aspire Z5610 it is a second user buy.

Straight away i noticed that it just wasnt working right which is half to be expected im sure when buying second user equipment.

After doing some research on forums i came to the conclusion of erasing the C drive and reloading the OS with the system restore disc i created on the computer.

I was getting all the way through and it was failing and suggested that there was a fault on the memory disc. Ive managed to get into the back of the computer and removed the RAM sticks and tried loading with just 1 and with both and all the different combinations of being in different ports.

Now it gets to 2% and just stops loading altogether its just sticks at wherever its stopped.

Im lost for answers now which is why i have decided to post.

Can anybody offer any suggestions please?

    Many thanks in advance.

As you talking second hand, I would Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.
Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.
    HD Diagnostic

or return to seller to check out.

I cant even load that either, its just saying operating system not found. Thats what im having problems loading.

Is there any other menu's i need to access other than boot menu?

Actually ive just removed one of the RAM sticks and its getting further than 2% and ongoing so i'll see if this makes any difference and repost with results.

You are not booting the LIVECD.

Im not sure what you mean by the LIVECD?

Ive just got to 100 loading the OS and then last second it failed and came up with

Restore failed - Error code=1392 (The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable)

    Any ideas?

The hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic tools are on a bootable CD, No OS needed.

A live Boot CD does not boot Windows. It boots an operating system which resides on the CD/DVD. Once booted this can contain diagnostic tools such as memory checking and HDD checking. You need to use a special function key Fn to intercept the boot and give you a list of boot devices. Alternatively you need to to set the boot order in the BIOS. Refer to any documentation you have or can download. You want to be able to boot from the DVD drive containing one of these bootable CD/DVDs that you can download.

Here are a couple of "all in one" utility DVDs
    Ultimate Boot CD
    Hirens Boot CD

    For your specific tests:
Run memtest86+ for your memory diagnostics and a HDD diagnostic utility for your HDD (see earlier link).
Let memtest run through at least one pass (~an hour?). Exit (esc) to manually stop.
