Windows 7: Cannot access create restore points! please help!

System restore not working! Cannot access System Protection feature of Windows 7! help pls!

I have a problem I need help with and I'm not very advanced with computers... please help in straight forward step by step English!

I have recently noticed that my windows 7 restore points are not working. I first realized this while using Revo Uninstaller Pro. Somebody told me to try and switch windows restore off.... then back on... to see if this would remedy my situation. HOWEVER, when trying to do this using the normal way: that is, clicking on Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection... I come up across this error message which is really frustrating!

Error Message:

There was an unexpected error on the property page:

System Restore encountered an error. Please try to run System Restore again. (0x81000203)

Please close the property page and try again.



Then the System protection tab seems frozen: The " You can undo system changes by reverting your computer to a previous restore point" the "System Restore" button next to it is faded out and I can't click on it. Just below with Protection Settings for Available drives.... it shows nothing! All it says is `Searching...`` but it doesn`t seem to be doing anything. In fact, all the buttons on this tab are faded and not accessible.



Guess what? I have tried again! and again! and again! doesn't work! please help me fix windows restore guys...
