I have just done a clean install of Windows 7 HP. The clean install of was done with RAID selected in the Intel D67BF BIOS before the clean install. Ctrl + i was selected and a RAID 1 array was created. Following that the clean install was initiated and completed. Therefore, the current/new Windows 7 HP installation is in a RAID 1 array.
I am under the impression that RAID arrays are creatures of the BIOS.
I want to restore into my new Windows 7 HP installation a previously backed up system image on an external hard drive. That system image was created by Windows 7 HP; that operating system was not, however, in a RAID 1 array.
Am I correct in my assumption that the restoration of the said backup into a RAID 1 array will not be affected by the fact that the restoration of the non-RAID system image will be into a RAID 1 ,Windows 7 HP installation?
Will the restoration affect the RAID 1 array? Said otherwise, will the said restoration affect the RAID 1 arrangement in the BIOS of the new Windows 7 HP operating system?
