    Windows Backup command line


    Hi all,

    i'm very happy to be here !!! I do not come often because I work a lot! But when I'm there, I am pleased.
    OK.

    I have a little problem... I'm looking for the command line of Windows backup (sdclt.exe). I went to the MSDN site and nothing about ! I found in google few commands but nothing to help me about i can use it...

    I found this site :

    but the person does not explain how it works ! Juste he put the command on the page...

    Someone can give me something like tuto or a link in MSDN, please ?

    Hi Brink !!

    Thank for your reply ! But i want to know what is the difference between Wbadmin et sdclt.exe ? It is not the same thing ?

    sdclt.exe is the GUI that does a whole host of things related to file backup and system image (manage settings, set schedules, delete old backups/system images, etc.).

    The wbadmin command is simply a command line interface to the eventual BACKUP (files/folders but CAN include a system image additionally) or standalone system image (no files/folders included from non-critical OS drives).

    IOW, sdclt.exe is the jump-off GUI point to the eventual system interface calls that are the equivalent of wbadmin start backup -allcritical (system image) or wbadmin start backup -include:file/folder list (user files/folders on non-OS drives).
