SSD Died - Have recent image but no boot drive

My SSD boot drive died yesterday but I have a recent image. What I don't have is a boot drive right now. I'm probably going to check some prices on SSD's locally later today and pick one up since it turns out the brand I was using isn't very reliable (OCZ Agility 2 60 gig - lasted 3.5 months). Assuming I do pick up a new boot drive how should I proceed? Should I install Windows on my HDD then restore the image to the new SSD or should I install Windows to the SSD and just restore everything but Windows? Or should I be doing something totally different?

What kind of recent image do you have? Is it a windows system image, or created with windows backup?
Or a ghost image, or ......

Did you put that image on external usb drive?

The image was created with Macrium but I don't remember making a recovery disk. The image is stored on the HDD where I kept documents and most applications.

You created images of ALL SSD partitions, so you have everything in the image?
What kind of recovery disk are you refering to?

The image I have is the entire SSD as far as I know. Macrium was making images every two days and I would go in every so often and delete old ones. There is at least one image on my HDD for sure possibly more.

As for the recovery disk, I took a look at the stickied thread about Macrium hoping to find some info there and the recovery disk was the first thing it covered. Unfortunately I never did that.

If you don't have a Linux or WinPE recovery disk for Macrium, I don't know how you can restore the image.
