    All i can remember is, i have a hp pavilion dv5, 4gb of RAM, my hard drive was 500GB, manufactor was hp, i was running 64 bit windows 7. All my ram was working fine, need anything else?

    My hard drive fails, although if i put it on another computer, it works fine :/.. I am thinking of getting a new hard drive, but i would loose windows 7 then wouldn't i...

    Do a Disk check on HD Drive, on another computer:
    Disk Check

    I am thinking of getting a new hard drive, but i would loose windows 7 then wouldn't i...
    Yes, you need a Recovery disk to reinstall.

    I am thinking of cleanign everything on my hard drive, and trying to reinstall windows 7, but i have no cd, do you have any idea to that? please,i dont want to rebuy windows 7 for cash again..

    Ok, well the thing is, My product key on the back is quite scratched out, and the windows 7 came PREinstalled, so what should i do now?

    Order a set of Recovery Disks from HP.

    If i managed to get the product code, would it still work? If i get rid of the current windows 7?
