How do I reset Backup password incorrectly entered?

History: Boot-up reported one of my mirrored disks was showing signs of failure. Data is copied elsewhere so if disk failed there would be at least 2 copies. However I thought I would do Microsoft backup. First time it failed with Access error (0x80070005). Corrected but when the login password was entered the wrong one was keyed. This gave password failure error (0x8007042d). The Backup windows now continually fails with the same message. I've tried the procedure using Regedit to set back to the default and have removed the Scheduled task for the Backup.

Any suggestions how I can reset the password associated with the Backup procedure?
