How do I auto backup my data in XP mode when I am not running it?

I have been using Palm Desktop for Notes, Contacts, etc for a long time on my XP laptop. I recently switched to Windows 7 on a new laptop. I couldn't get Palm Desktop to install on Windows 7 64bit.

So I virtualized XP mode on my laptop and installed Palm Desktop in XP and transferred all the data from the old laptop to my new one. However I want it to back up my data to my Buffalo NAS.

My Buffalo came with a program to send my files to the the NAS.

Would I still use this program and will it automatically do this when I am not in XP mode?

Or is there a way to back up something in Windows 7 that will back up my XP data?

Welcome Yazoo to the windows 7 forums.

Backing up your xp data while in a virtual session should be fairly easy as your nas should be available as a drive on your windows 7 machine.

I recommend just copying all the data from your palm to the nas in a directory that you create on the nas.

Normally the windows 7 backup won't backup data from a .vhd as it is just a big file to it. You can copy the .vhd to your nas which will make an image of it for retrieval later if you wish.

If your not in xp mode, it won't get backed up.
