Frozen during backup
I'm trying my first backup onto a new external hard drive. It's a 3Tb Seagate rated at 7200 rpm. It's a GPT partition (so I could use all 3TB).
There's a lot of data on it because of the photos.... about 465gb to back up.
It stalled at 32% and the machine will not accept any commands and the dialog box reads "Windows Backup... 32% complete (not responding).
The machine shows a fairly constant flicker of yellow light and the receiving hard drive flashes from time to time.
I can't help wondering if the 32% figure is in error and it's on the task of creating a system image and therefore doesn't want to be disturbed.
What's the safest course? I can't get task manager to come up and nothing happens when I press on the start button either so I can't safely shut down even if that's an option... I don't think I want to just power it off.
