Hi
I had some
problems lately with one of my 2 HDDs and I got a replacement for the faulty HDD. However, the new drive is bigger and I was wondering if it's a good idea to clone the system drive so that I can use only the new drive instead. I know there are several ways to do it and since I don't have a docking station I'll have to use some apps for this (maybe Acronis Migrate Easy). But how safe is it? I have 4 partitions, meaning somewhere around 600Gb of data, including the OS, drivers & apps. Another problem is that the source drive is a SATA2 drive and the new one is SATA3. My motherboard has SATA2 but it looks like they had no SATA2 drive to replace the bad one. Also, I would like to do this using an external USB enclosure (this one supports only SATA 1 - technically - but I'm using it with a SATA2 drive right now).
I'll apreaciate any info you can give me, it's the first time I'm trying to do this.
