When you create an Acronis Secure Zone, I think that it can only be used to store those images that were created after it. It is like another Partition but you are not allowed to paste an earlier image into it. What exactly did you do that it corrupted 355 gigabytes of data? How did you retrieve the corrupted data?

Please tell us a little more about what happened.

I used a free recovery tool, basically I used the secure zone wizard and chose to make 65gb of partition from my 2nd hdd, acronis asked me to restart.. So I did and there it was turned into raw ntfs

I have recently purchased Acronis home and online backup, it seems people are generally very happy with Acronis?

I did have some issues with the online backup struggling with metadata or something in my Outlook directory but I recreated the backup and it seems okay now.

I do need to read through the manual though.

I don't use Acronis - so can't comment on that.

I have used macrium and the new v12 paragon - both work well for me.

Macrium free does not handle gpt -so if you are using gpt - you need to look elsewhere.

    Hi there!

Well, I personally use Genie Timeline from a company called Genie9 ( Genie9 (Formerly Genie-soft) | Backup, Restore & Disaster Recovery Solutions for Windows ) I like it since as you mentioned, I sometimes need to backup external Hdd ,and that does that for me. As well as being affordable for the many options it offers, so I'd definitely recommend you try it out
