    Hello Nuttzo, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    How does it work directly through the Control Panel?

    If it works, then you may need to create a new backup shortcut to use in the Start Menu.

    nuttzo32 , have you ever had Acronis True Image Home installed on your pc at all? There is an issue where backup won't start after it's been uninstalled.

    Thanks Burdus, yes i did have Acronis True Image previously installed and all i had to do to fix it was to use the acronis 2012 removal tool here http://download.acronis.com/ATIH_CleanUp_2012.exe
    and then changed the value of these 2 keys as described in the wilders security article you linked

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B98A2BEA-7D42-4558-8BD1-832F41BAC6FD}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]
    ResourceID = 14 (as hexadecimal value or 20 as decimal value)
    ResourceDLL = %SystemRoot%\System32\sdcpl.dll (as REG_EXPAND_SZ value)

    Glad you got it sorted. I had the same problem with the 2011 version. Surprised they haven't fixed the issue yet.
