Windows 7 System Restore failed after Itune .......APLZODLocalized.dll

After attempting to update I tunes, Computer crashed.

On reboot, system automatically launched System Restore and attempted to recover but failed.

    FAILURE REASON:

"System Restore failed while deleting the following file/directory.
    Path: C:\$Extend\$RmMetadata\$Txf\00000000000026D1\APLZODLocalized.dll
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80004005)"

Attempts to reload from an existing restore point have failed.

Attempt's to boot in Safe Mode & Safe Mode using Command Prompt failed.

Used chdsk function: Had to dismount drive in order to launch. ckdsk then launched and ran. No bad sectors reported.

I cannot find my Windows restore disk and it seems the only thing left is to do a restore from the OEM partioned Software

Looking for options other than reloading Windows.

    Welcome
I dont have an answer to your problem, but if you must reinstall. You can reinstallSP2 without all the bloatware.

Before you reinstall Windows 7, I suggest that you manually delete the folder $Extend with all its contents and try restoring to an earlier date again.

The other thing to do would be to download the latest version of iTunes from Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now, uninstall your current version and reinstall with the downloaded setup file.
