Possible to backup to 2 partitions?

I'm trying to backup from my main storage drive to the 2 partitions on a Seagate hard drive. :)

I'm planning to both actually. I'm not really sure why I considered it unsafe to be honest. I just thought adding an entry to a context menu didn't seem reliable. You're suggesting to add an option for the things that come up when you right-click, right?

I just read it again. I don't really understand, I want to backup using the native Windows backup, not sending everything on my main hard drive to both partitions.

What do you want to backup? (Some things, everything, etc.)
What format do you want it backed up in? (Data, an Image, a Compressed Folder, etc.)
Where do you want it to be backed up? (A copy on your new drive and the old one, on just the old one, etc.)

Be specific. One detailed post describing everything you'd like to do is better than a back-and-forth thing where neither party is quite sure what the other person wants. :)

I want to backup everything on my OS drive, in an image to both partitions on my Seagate hard drive. I like the idea of merging them, makes things tidier. So profdlb, should I merge them? Is it pretty straight forward what I have to do? Or should I do like you said earlier and extend the biggest partition? (Though I don't know how that would be easier, but I'm no expert) If so, how would I do that, or is the information I need in the tutorial?

I do not understand this 'difficult' discussion.

1. Of course you can backup 2 partitions easily. If it is only data, I would just copy it. If there is an OS, I would image that partition - but not with Win7 imaging (which is a mess) but with free Macrium which is easy to use, reliable and fast.

2. If you want to add an entry to the sendto menu, press start and type shell:sendto, then click on the sendto entry above (or press Enter) and drag the shortcut of your sendto target from the desktop into the sendto folder. Then close the folder - done.

OK, downloaded it and it seems very easy to do. Though I will have to sacrifice Windows reminding me to backup, but as you said it's messy (Don't really know what you mean but OK ).
