WD My Book or Drive enclosure + Macrium?

I do not have much experience with backups and I want to get something that is reliable and simple to use to backup my 2 computers.

Should I get a ready to use solution such as a WD My Book Essentials or should I get a hard drive enclosure plus a regular HD and then use Macrium to do my backups.

Hi Denis,

Either solution is acceptable and will work just fine.

However, a regular HDD in an enclosure that connects to your computer via an eSATA connector/cable will allow you to backup quicker than one with a USB connector/cable.

Hi,

In my opinion, Macrium is far, far, far superior. Use that instead of anything else.

Imaging with free Macrium
