Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, disable windows image B.U., HOW?

Hello,
I'm trying to figure how to diable the windows image back up on my pc? I have Windows 7 64bit Premium Home. I use Acronis and a external hard drive to back up what ever I need and this seems just to take up too much space for somthing that I will never use ( or do I have to keep it?).

TIA,
John

Well my nob opinion, is that is better to keep it since it's windows default. Anyway i don't think there is a way to disable or uninstall it.

Is this what your looking for? Create System Image - Enable or Disable

If you've already already made a system image with the windows built in tool but now concerned about the space its occupying realising that you won't be needing it as you've already created an image with Acronis True image, you can then simply delete the WindowsImageBackup folder present at the location you specified during its creation freeing the occupied space.

If I understand your question right, you want to get rid of (uninstall) Windows 7 built-in back up utility. You don't have to use it to make any back ups with, but I don't believe you can uninstall/delete it because it is part of the OS itself.

Yup hit the nail on the head! No way to stop it. I have went into Control panel>back up and restore> the windows backup was turned off so there is nothing else I can do.

Solution get a bigger external hard drive for my music, photos, and documents.

Thanks all,
John
