Macrium WinPE .iso download When using Macrium for imaging it is highly recommended to burn the WinPE recovery CD. With the free Macrium version that involves the download of the 1.7GB WAIK (Windows Application Installation Kit). That can take several hours. For your convenience I have uploaded a ready made .iso of the WinPE recovery disc to my Fileswap site. That can be downloaded in appr. 8 minutes which clearly beats the WAIK download. Once you downloaded and unzipped the folder, you can burn it directly to a CD with e.g. ImgBurn. I draw your attention to the fact that this WinPE CD can also be used to make images. That may be convenient in case you do not want to install Macrium on your PC. Here is the link. Note that Fileswap makes a 15 second pause before you can download from their free service. I guess they want to sell me their Pro version. My Macrium tutorial was updated accordingly. | My System Specs |

Kari Kari, it was just supposed to be a little service for our members. Dealing with the WAIK is a bit lengthy and boring.
And I am glad you guys can make good use of it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Nice one Wolfgang. A MacriumPE iso also works well in YUMI as an "Unsupported ISO" if you prefer to boot from a USB. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett-Packard/G62-107SA Notebook OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 1425 Memory 8 GB DDR3 Graphics Card Intel(R) HD Graphics Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Builtin Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 60 Hz Mouse Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Hard Drives 250 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive 7200 rpm

Keith, I have not tried Yumi yet. Do you think it is worth it. Maybe I could reduce my big package of CDs that I carry around. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Yes Wolfgang. YUMI is good. I have an 8GB USB stick with Windows Defender Offline (Need to install as Windows 7) , Hirens Boot CD, Puppy Linux, PartedMagic, A couple of AV programs and with a bit of fiddling UBCD. If you forgo the WDO you can have one Windows 7 installer. I seem to remember a tutorial to create a universal Win 7 installer somewhere.
Oh it also has a Windows 7 repair ISO. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett-Packard/G62-107SA Notebook OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 1425 Memory 8 GB DDR3 Graphics Card Intel(R) HD Graphics Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Builtin Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 60 Hz Mouse Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Hard Drives 250 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive 7200 rpm

Sounds good. I just came back from Florida. But when I am done setting up my home here in Germany and completed all my doctor appointments, I should reserve a day to move a lot of my CDs on it. This is Golden's Macrium USB on YUMI tutorial. It is using the Linux ISO but the principle is the same.
