Macrium WinPE .iso download

When using Macrium for imaging it is highly recommended to burn the WinPE recovery CD. With the free Macrium version that involves the download of the 1.7GB WAIK (Windows Application Installation Kit). That can take several hours.

For your convenience I have uploaded a ready made .iso of the WinPE recovery disc to my Fileswap site. That can be downloaded in appr. 8 minutes which clearly beats the WAIK download. Once you downloaded and unzipped the folder, you can burn it directly to a CD with e.g. ImgBurn.

I draw your attention to the fact that this WinPE CD can also be used to make images. That may be convenient in case you do not want to install Macrium on your PC.

Here is the link. Note that Fileswap makes a 15 second pause before you can download from their free service. I guess they want to sell me their Pro version.

My Macrium tutorial was updated accordingly.

Kari, it was just supposed to be a little service for our members. Dealing with the WAIK is a bit lengthy and boring.

And I am glad you guys can make good use of it.

Nice one Wolfgang. A MacriumPE iso also works well in YUMI as an "Unsupported ISO" if you prefer to boot from a USB.

Keith, I have not tried Yumi yet. Do you think it is worth it. Maybe I could reduce my big package of CDs that I carry around.

Yes Wolfgang. YUMI is good. I have an 8GB USB stick with Windows Defender Offline (Need to install as Windows 7) , Hirens Boot CD, Puppy Linux, PartedMagic, A couple of AV programs and with a bit of fiddling UBCD. If you forgo the WDO you can have one Windows 7 installer. I seem to remember a tutorial to create a universal Win 7 installer somewhere.

Oh it also has a Win7 repair ISO.

Sounds good. I just came back from Florida. But when I am done setting up my home here in Germany and completed all my doctor appointments, I should reserve a day to move a lot of my CDs on it. Thanks Keith.

If you need any help just PM me.

This is Golden's Macrium USB on YUMI tutorial. It is using the Linux ISO but the principle is the same.

Macrium Install Option to include WinPE: needed?
A newbie type question: I'd like to try Macrium free. The install process provides the options to include or exclude WinPE. I'd rather not include it if it's not needed. What are the pros and cons to excluding it? I'm running Win7x64. IIUC, WinPE is a sorta compact version of Windows,...

Download your Winpe media now
I have heard Paragon will not be offering winpe media after 30-3-12. If you have a Paragon product that comes with it - you need to d.l it before then. I don't know why exactly - MS has changed the licensing terms - and I presume Paragon don't think it is worth it. It is quite odd. I...
