| | Not legally if I understand your intentions correctly. An OEM license is good only for the original motherboard. Laptops typically have OEM licenses. A retail license is good for any motherboard, but ONLY ONE PC at a time. Ignoring the licensing, the laptop that received the restoration might not operate properly. It might not even boot. |

| | As ignatz said you'll have a licensing problem if it's OEM, but say you didn't, you would have to first run SYSPREP on the computer you are migrating from. If you don't, the other laptop won't even boot to windows. Windows 7 Installation - Transfer to a New Computer |
