Contents of Documents folder missing

I was using Chrome looking at some info on Cisco's website and my browser crashed, and all the contents of my Documents folder are missing as well as the desktop shortcuts associated with them.

I've tried system restore but that didn't even complete, and EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional and I have not been able to locate them. All my other files are intact, My Pictures/My Videos/ Downloads.

Please help.

Hello Jago,

You might see if using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to make sure that your C:\Users\(user-name)\My Documents folder is still set with it's default location and associations. Hopefully it may help restore the folder and it's contents.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18583-user-folders-restore-default-location.html

To be extra safe, you might consider doing a full scan of your system with Malwarebytes free to help make sure your system is clean.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I tried option two, but it didn't work. I also tried different data recovery programs but they didn't show any of the files that are missing. It is a mystery.

Anyways, Thank you very much for your help.
