I did a restore and now I cant find my files or pictures

I did a system restore as I had a virus. Now I can't find, my excel or word files, my pictures, nor my favourites. My word and XL software is Ok.

Where do I find them what file do I look in ?

I am not a tech geek, but do know my way around my computer.

    Your help is appreciated

You can undo the restore and try to remove the virus. Open up System Restore and select Undo Restore. Then, when it is done, run a virus scan with Malwarebytes: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - CNET Download.com

Strange. System Restore doesn't delete user files. Are you sure the virus didn't get them?

When I open WORD I can still see some of my files in the recently viewed option.
I opened and resaved some of them
Also when I went to bookmark a favourite it said I already had that bookmark saved.
    So it is really weird

Although the virus could have got them, the warning I had said the virus was going to attack my hard drive.

I have McAfee installed so I guess the virus blew thru it.

Are you sure the files have not been set to hidden somehow? They are obviously still there if you can access them as you describe.

I tried to undo the restore but it will only show dates back to June 4 I need to go back to May 30/12. I don't know what other alternatives I have. I guess I just have to live with the fact that I lost my files and favourites. I appreciated your input.
