Macrium 5.0 WinPE iso problem

Macrium 5.0 WinPE.iso is an updated 64 bit recscue CD for Macrium Reflect

I needed to restore a HD image from my portable USB HD so I booted my 64 bit laptop with this CD, it told me that it required a driver for the USB port to work and asked for the location that it should scan to look for the driver. I was really desperate so I pointed the app to the C drive. After 10 minutes or more of scanning, it located the required driver and worked flawlessly!!

A Windows 7 64 bit driver working on a Win PE is that crazy or what?

I was lucky this time that my hard disk was in tact and could use it to load the driver. If the hard disk had a roblem, I would have been in a bind

I don't trust CD-R media as after some time the data on it evaporates so I'd like to put this iso on a flash drive. How do I do that?

Hi netadict. try this tutorial. MACRIUM REFLECT - Create Bootable Rescue USB Drive. It is for the Linux disk but if you substitute the WinPE disk it will work.

Thank you kado897 for the app

It worked flawlessly in converting iso to USB

*I plugged in my newly created rescue flash drive into a usb port and rebooted
Macriu started but did not "see" my portable usb HD

*trial2
plugged in the rescue flash drive into a usb port and the port hd ino another usb port and restarted
hd was recognised

just to check I tried trail 2 again
this time the usb hd was not seen

WHY THE INCONSISTENCY?

Macrium Reflect aside, I have a partition D on my internal hard disk by the name of restore but I can't access it through my computer or explorer

Is there a way whereby I can use any software to image my C drive on the D partition?

I always find it better with USB devices at boot to power everything off and boot from there.

so you mean I plug in my port USB HD first before booting?

Yes that's right. I don't know how well WinPE handles plug and play so I make sure that the BIOS recognizes the disk before booting from the flash drive. In my case that is easy as it offers the USB HDD as a boot option.

hi guys, i'm very new to this image restore stuff.
i recently sold out my old pc (intel i3and intel dh55tc), and bought a new one (i5 and dz68db).
before selling i made an macrium image of system drive (320 gb), which i restored on new hdd (320 gb), i could successfully restore the system drive (100 mb) and C: drive as well.
but after restarting pc won't boot, and asking me to launch repair options. i attempted repair option but it didn't help, i tried restoring image two/three times, but facing some problem and now stuck in no booting situation.
anybody had such problem?
any help?
thanks and regards in advance.

Macrium Install Option to include WinPE: needed?
A newbie type question: I'd like to try Macrium free. The install process provides the options to include or exclude WinPE. I'd rather not include it if it's not needed. What are the pros and cons to excluding it? I'm running Win7x64. IIUC, WinPE is a sorta compact version of Windows,...

Macrium WinPE .iso download
When using Macrium for imaging it is highly recommended to burn the WinPE recovery CD. With the free Macrium version that involves the download of the 1.7GB WAIK (Windows Application Installation Kit). That can take several hours. For your convenience I have uploaded a ready made .iso of the...

Macrium Problem
I have just started using Macrium Reflect Free Version. I am backing up my Documents every night. It appears what is happening is I am getting a new backup every night instead of overwriting what is there. The result is that my backup space is full.
