Hi kado897. To clarify, I did reinstall a number of the programs ie, Microsoft Office, iTunes, prior to the restore.

The question is then why are you trying to restore into the Program Files (x86) folder?

I have no idea. I tried initially to restore to"original location". When that didn't seem to work, I tried a new location that I just guessed. That didn't work, so I'm not sure where to try next?

I phrased my question badly.

What are you trying to achieve by restoring these files?

Simply to move the word, music and picture files I created to their respective libraries.

OK then what you need to do is just add the folders that contain them when you browse for Folders in the restore wizard. They will be folders under your user name. It is probably better to restore them to another location so you don't get any conflicts and then move the restored files into the libraries using Explorer. This tutorial goes into a lot of detail. You could create a folder anywhere in your user account or even on the disk you have the backup on.
