    Clean your disk (not clean all!) Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
    Then try to install win7

    does it have anything to do with the harddrive being a ssd??

    controller failure, cable damaged, ssd faulty.... it could be anything. No symptoms find yet
