Cloning Win7 to new motherboard

I am looking at moving my C: (OS) hard drive from a Win 7 machine to a new Win 7 machine. The only reason I am doing this migration is due to a new motherboard with processor. Utilizing both the native Win 7 tools and Norton Ghost it appears that I should be able to do this. AM I to naive believing this?

However, I am still not sure how I am supposed to load the new mobo drivers once the new HDD is booted up in the new machine. Additionally, the HDD is 120 Gb and the new HDD is 500 Gb and I am concerned that I am going to run into issues due to the size difference.

Does anyone have an recommendations or tutorials on this topic?

Thank you.

Sysprep the current installation, clone the disks, then expand the partition with disk management after booting new motherboard.

I am not familiar with Sysprep so I need to learn about it prior to acting upon your advice.

I will keep you updated.

Just an opinion - I would do a clean install for a new Motherboard. Deactivate paid software and reactivate on the new system.

After trying multiple times I through in the towel and re-installed Win 7. It wasn't a crisis issue this time however, it was a lesson learned when it comes to changing hardware.

Thank God for MozBackup for being able to back up Thunderbird and Firefox.

Thanks again.
