It is always better to get your downloads from the original site rather than from a second party site. It helps to eliminate the crapware. Thanks,

I guess you are right. I always used this particular site because I knew that they review and test all programs before releasing them for download.

I use avast! SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes and SpywareBlaster.
Avast is always running and I use SAS and MB on demand.

Never had anything bad installed with mb myself. I always go to the official sites.

You got Babylon for the site you downloaded from. Not from Malwarebytes Anti Malware. This Babylon has been popping up all over the net. This piece of trash is attacking well known good sites. It got me to about a week ago. Just Google (Remove Babylon) and you will get 989,000 sites to remove this trash.

I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials and I've found it quite good with Windows 7. I certainly doesn't hog my system the way Norton System Works used to years ago. I've just downloaded SuperAntiSpyware and ran it but all it found were cookies. I selected some of those for removal but left most of them. I still have MalwareBytes installed as it seems to be quite a good program once I got shot of the stuff that came with it.

@Layback Bear. I actually emailed the company behind Babylon but I won't tell you what I said to them!

I had a little chat here with a rep. Let us know how successful you are of getting rid of it and how. It can help many. You should be able to get a clean MAM from there site.

@Layback Bear. Hopefully this will cover everything mate. I have it off completly.

In order to uninstall Babylon and all its features completely, follow the 4 steps below :
+ Uninstall Babylon Software:
http://support.babylon.com/index.php...bylon-software

+ Change Babylon Home Page (Internet Explorer \ Firefox \ Google Chrome):
http://support.babylon.com/index.php...ylon-home-page

+ Remove Babylon search provider
http://support.babylon.com/index.php...-search-engine

+ Tab issue:
In case you open a new tab, and Babylon Search still appears, please do the following:

For Internet Explorer:
Open your Internet Explorer browser, click on "Tools", then "Internet Options" and in the section "Tabs" click on "Settings". It will open a new window, on the option "When a new tab is opened, open:" in the drop-down menu please choose "Your first homepage". Then click OK, Apply and OK.

For Firefox:
Write in the adress line "about:config" and enter. Confirm the message. Look for "Babylon". Right-click the entries and click "Reset".

For Google:
1.Click on Customize and control Google Chrome (wrench icon) and select settings.
2. click the Manage search engines... button.
3. Select Google from the list and make it your default search engine.
4. Select Search the web (Babylon) from the list remove it by clicking the "X" mark.
On startup > mark the Open a specific page or set of pages >click set pages > put your home page, if you see Babylon on the list, click the "X" mark.
