Possible to covert a plain system part. copy to ISO and make bootable? I have an Asus Eee PC, Windows 7, no inst. media. The touchpad stopped working (a common problem on many Asus Eee PCs I learnt) , during an Asian trip, so I had it repaired by a local shop. However, the repairman must have damaged the recovery partition in the process, as recovery, both in terms of recovery time points and factory state reinstall function stopped working. I started to use a backup software (EaseUS) to make backup part. images on a "restore" part. and it worked well. However, during the last backup about ten days ago (due to the terrible heat here?) I must erroneously have clicked "backup partition - i. e. a plain partition files copy instead of partition clone alternative. Few days ago I made a bad download, which I could not get rid of, so I wiped out the system partition and attemped to restore the system ,only to find that on the restore partition I had not a part. clone, but a plain Windows 7 partition files copy, so no restore was possible. Is there any way to convert this copy of a working partition into ISO and make it bootable, so that I can salvage the system? | My System Specs |

Hi Golden and thanks, if possible, Iīd like tp salvage the original system, as it contains a lot of valuable software that Iīd loose with a new install. Apart from that, although it sound unbelievable, the Microsoft Sticker at the back of my Asus is "empty", it looks just like the regular verification sticker with Microsoft logo but without the text "Proof of License", the space for product key etc is blank, which means the factoory OEM fresh install is not an option for me. However, Iīm prepared, if a salvation is not possible, to buy Recovery DVDīs, although getting them from Asus`european store is a big chore - have laready read complaints on the web about them. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium |

You did Disk and partition backup - EaseUS Todo Backup online help to create the backup didn't you? Disk and partition recovery - EaseUS Todo Backup online help you're doing now? No, I did the backup direct from the EaseUS software without the use of online help and tried to recover also by using EaseUS software. However, since I had wiped out the original partition, I could not use the original EaseUS, so Itemporarily installed a WIN XP on the original partition, re-installed EaseUS, started it and then tried to recover the backup. Maybe it was here that everything went wrong? What I only too realized, was that I must be in a working WINDOWS OS to be able to use EaseUS and recover. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium |
