Windows restoring to earlier version on startup

Earlier this evening (around 00:56 BST) I had a BSOD, the details of which I can't give you as they are not located anywhere on my PC.
After this happened, though, whenever I restart my PC it reboots to an earlier version of Windows, seemingly minutes before the BSOD. It's not BSODing a few minutes after I startup, but using Event Viewer the time skips from around 23:10 BST to 02:50 BST (the current time), which is roughly when I restarted the PC last.

I have no clue how to fix this and Google searches aren't helping me find any instances of this happening to anyone else ever. Does anyone have a clue as to how this could be repaired?

Just as a note before anyone asks, I can't offer anyone any error codes because, as said above, there's no record of the BSOD happening in my system and all restarts wipe out any data after 23:10 on 25/08/12.

EDIT: Just tested something. Saving to my D and E drives works absolutely fine. It's just the C drive that's acting up. Not sure if that would help any.

EDIT 2: The system also seems intent on changing my default browser to Internet Explorer whenever I restart.
