ATM 2013 (Acronis True Image 2013) with USB3 HDD

    Hi there
Anybody used this yet -- I need to upgrade my imaging program - I now have USB3 slots on the laptop and want to know if Acronis 2013 will backup / restore to a USB3(only) external disk at USB3 speeds. I don't want this to run in USB2 compatibility mode speed.

I can use the try before buy - but hopefully someone has already tried this and saves me the bother of installing and testing this feature.

    (OS W7 X-64 Enterprise).

    Cheers

I haven't tried it as I don't have a USB 3.0 external hard drive (I have USB 3.0 ports on my new motherboard). But, I suspect that the port speed is independent of the applications software such as True Image.

    Side Note

The last issue of Acronis I used (2012) replaced my disk drivers when it was installed. When I had some other problems with it and tried to uninstall it the installed disk drivers were really difficult to remove. The problems are well documented on Acronis forums and also here if I can find the link. Could not find the link.

I just checked my SSD, hard drives and optical drives and they all still have Microsoft supplied drivers, according to Device Manager. I have the new Acronis TI 2013 version. I checked another PC that has the 2012 version and it too shows Microsoft drivers.

    Disk Drivers

I can't explain that. The drivers were changed in my case. To correct that I finally did a clean reinstall. When I was working on it there were posts on the Acronis forum that refered to it. I finally demanded a refund.

    Explanation

This clip from the Acronis forum Pertains to the problem I mention with the disk drivers. I don't have a clip of device manager because the problem is now resolved.

I've had Acronis since V10 and never was aware of any driver replacements. (They had Vxx numbers before they went to year numbered versions 2009).

The only problem I've had was the same one others had with a serial number. That problem was with the 2009 version, it was registered and working and then it came up with an invalid serial number. The fix was Acronis issued new serial numbers to those that needed them.

(I see you are ex WV, so is my wife, from the south Clarksburg area)

    Disk Drivers

I used to travel to Clarksburg from Parkersburg just for dinner. They had some good resturants.

My disk drivers details look like this now:

We are taking over someone else's thread. So I better quit.
