    Control Panel Backup & Restore link doesn't work


    How can I get the Windows 7 Control Panel Backup & Restore link to work? When I click on it it does nothing

    Have you run
    SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
    lately?
    Either there is a problem in the windows file structure which sfc will check for, or a service the feature depends on has been disabled.
    That's about the only two scenarios I can come up with.

    thanks Maguscreed, I ran sfc but it found no errors or violations. Do I have to reinstall W7 to fix the problem?

    Well honestly if my brain was working today I'd probably be able to tell you the specific service you are missing. Reinstalls are hardly ever required with win 7 because of this feature.
    Repair Install
    However, I would let this thread sit a bit and see if someone hops by with the right service to enable for you.
    I'm relatively sure that's the problem, this could also be a side effect of a overactive security or antivirus program. I kind of doubt that though.
