Vista Recovery Problem under Windows 7

    Hello community,

have had for some time following problem ...

    So the following:

I had put on me for Christmas a new PC that had Windows Vista recovery on a separate partition on the hard disk / is.
Had the time when the recovery was still not back to burn them to DVD's desire to order it.
Have now Windows 7 on it.
In the boot screen appears, as always, that I will appear by pressing the "F11" button, the Recoverymenü. This goes some way no longer.
At defragmentation does not show yet that the data reside on the partition. But as soon as I can access this partition, there's nothing, but already, the memory, even though the files ALL (!) Are still available.

Can you help me or maybe give some tips on how I could get back my old OS?

The PC was bought from HP and collected.

    Sincerely,
    Steven

Looking at the image it would appear that the Factory created partition is still there along with the image of the original files. Now if you didn't create a DVD of this image prior to installing Seven you probably erased the application needed to create a boot disc. Also, if you did not get a system disc with your new computer along with the fact you did not create a backup prior to installing Seven there is no way you are going to get to the Factory installed partition.

You need to contact HP and let them know what happened, and see if you can get a backup disc with Vista.

Now did you do a clean install or an update to Seven. Clean install will wipe all the old files, however, if you did an update you just may still have the application for creating the Vista disc. But, just because it could still be there doesn't mean it will work.

    Also, Welcome To Seven Forums.
