Windows won't boot, all repair tools will not work. Please help! Hello all,
I attempted to restart my computer after a Trojan deletion and was met with a BSOD unbootable boot drive.
From there I've tried everything, startup repair will not work, the windows 7cd won't work (repair or a fresh install) and safe mode won't work.
1. Startup repair gets stuck on the blue background of the login screen.
2. The win 7 cd repair alternately does the same as above or gets to the first screen then says that there is no windows partition and spends forever searching for it.
3. Win 7 install stuck on the setup is starting part
4. Safe mode gets stuck after loading classpnp.sys
Any help would be greatly appreciated! | My System Specs |

Hi,
What errors do you get when you try to perform a clean install?
Copy any critical user data files off the drive using this: Peppermint3 - Create Live CD/DVD/USB To Use For Emergency Backup
Then follow this to do a clean install of Windows 7: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
Regards,
Golden

"win 7 install stuck on the setup is starting part"
Was not joking, it literally gets stuck. There is no error message, it just does nothing at that point.
Furthermore your suggestion of doing a clean restart would be useful, however, I cannot access the recovery console in any capacity. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 |

Which ISO are you using to do the installation? What steps did you follow? | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Golden Mk. I used the windows recovery disk that came with my dell computer, then a actual windows 7 disk.
I tried manually changing the boot order to put cd drive first, also tried going into boot options then booting from the cd.
From there I simply went install windows (also tried repair). | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 |

Download a fresh ISO from the link in the tutorial I referenced - the freezing you describe is typical of a bad/poor ISO. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Golden Mk. What? I didn't use an ISO, I used the windows disks, two of them. No way they were both damaged (they were not damaged physically).
A damaged disk would not account for the fact that neither the repair startup utility nor safe mode does not work.
Honestly, not very helpful at all. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 |

I fixed it.
I rustled up a Linux cd and booted from there. Copied valuable files then reformatted the whole drive.
One fresh install, every thing is back to normal.
A few driver troubles but nothing I can't handle.
Thanks anyway. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 |
