    Switch programs


    Hello Please excuse the spelling error in the title.
    I have been reading that Acronis TI is having driver trouble especially with Try and Decide.Acronis seems to be having trouble uninstalling too.

    I am getting this from their forum.

    Since moving to Win 7 I am unsure of Acronis although it did perform a restore for me. It is developing issues unlike Macrium which moves ahead free each year..

    if I wanted to switch to Macrium Reflect, free, could I install Macrium and perform a backup and restore then remove Accronis if it worked. I would be using the same usb drive.

    I ask before I complicate things with the backup hardware or drivers etc.

    My last thought is to ask if I would be ok with Win 7 native backup and restore as all I do is an occasional backup with no schedules etc.

    Hi Seven2. You may use Macrium alongside Acronis or uninstall Acronis as you wish. Macrium will not be able to use the Acronis backups you have already made though. Win 7 native backup is OK but is not as flexible and reliable as Macrium. I use the belt and braces approach and use both.

    I may perform a restore with Acronis back to June 2012 when the pc had less clutter than after updating Windows etc, perform a backup with Win 7 B+R and Macrium.
    After removing all of Acronis I would have your belt and braces approach.
