can't find files that were on the desktop.
Here's the story. Hard drive on the blink, pulled it out and put in an enclosure. Loaded it on a different machine, can see lots of files that were on the drive, but not those that were stored on the desktop.
Additionally, when I first loaded it up, the users folder, had the user folder (jk), public and default. When I clicked the jk, I got an error message (which I didn't write down and don't remember) and the jk user file disappeared.
I used command prompt to look at the users directory and it said four users:
I really need to get the files that were on the desktop, which according to the hard drive space are still out there, but can't find them. have spent about 15 hours on this over the last 2 days, really need some help.
