True Image Lite 2013 beta offers no-frill backups

Quote:
Acronis International has released a beta version of True Image Lite 2013, a stripped-down version of its True Image backup tool.

The new release ditches disk, partition, email and file backup types, for instance (there’s non-stop backup and online backup only). There are no full or differential backups (just incremental). No scheduling, no backups to CDs, DVDs or Blu-ray, no option to create a bootable recovery disc, and of course none of the extensive settings you’ll find in the full True Image package.

Interesting, thanks for posting.

No backup to local HDD so it's all cloud based and although you get an initial space allocation it's largely by subscription.
There must be money to be made in the cloud.

Frankly, I'd have no use for this, but figured I'd let people know about it

Yup. It's not got a lot to offer compared to the free alternatives available so unlikely I would be recommending it ahead of Paragon's free product.

I am a long time user of the full blown version of Acronis True Image and it's pretty damn hard to beat.

Hi there Anybody used this yet -- I need to upgrade my imaging program - I now have USB3 slots on the laptop and want to know if Acronis 2013 will backup / restore to a USB3(only) external disk at USB3 speeds. I don't want this to run in USB2 compatibility mode speed. I can use the try before...

True Image 2011 vs True Image 2010
I'm wondering exactly what improvements and changes have been made that might make it worthwhile to upgrade. I don't much care about cosmetic changes, only in those that actually make the program work better. I took a look at the Acronis website, but didn't find a change log, only literature to...
