How to create backup not affected by virus?

    Hello,

I have a computer that was doing backup everydays.
These days I have a virus infection, a virus had enctrypted all files with .done
    For example somedocument.doc.done

This virus also encrypted my backups (By cobian) in the external HDD which are .RAR.

So, is there some way to create backup automaticly and saftly so they will no be infected by these virus?

Miros84, Normally backup will not scan your files for virus's. It is good security to have a good Anti-Virus. I personally use Vipre internet security along with the pay version of Malwarebytes.

I also create an image of my hard disks on a weekly basis to an external USB hard disk using Acronis 2013 which is my backup of choice. There are other free ones available.

From what I see on your message, you might be out of luck unless you decide to pay the virus maker to unincrypt your data.
    Which I do not recommend.
Unless the data that the virus encrypted is worth a lot of time and money to you then you have not much of a choice.
    for vipre:

Antivirus Software & Virus Protection | VIPRE Antivirus

    For malwarebytes

    Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

    for Acronis:

Backup software for data backup and disaster recovery in Windows and Linux - Acronis

PS: I don't have any financial interest in any of this, I pay for every one I use.

    Hello,

    I have antivirus.
And yes, I use a lot Acronis, in this case I havenot a backup with acronis, but I am afraid that if I made a backup with acronis I have to conect the HDD only when I am doing the backup, because if I have it conected all the time virus can encrypted mybackup.tib too, right?

Tib files mey also been encrypyed by these virus I think.

Miros84, your correct, if you make a backup with the virus active, then the backup will have the virus in it.
I don't know what kind of virus you have and whether it will encrypt the .tib files.

I suggest you restore from a good image backup before you got the virus.
