Location backup doesn't see my external hard drive

    Greetings,
    I've really gotten on this.
From my computer I can access my external hard disk, but when I go to create a recovery image the computer doesn't see the external drive.

Is there a setting somewhere I can change?
All my searches tell me about reading the backup from a non detected drive not saving onto a semi detected drive.

    Cheers

Hello windam and welcome to Seven Forums.

It might help to diagnose the problem if you could post a screenshot of your maximized Disk Managment window. It's possible the external drive doesn't have a drive letter assigned, or some other issue.

It would also help to know which imaging utility you're using; the native Windows 7, Macrium, etc.

    Thanks for your reply,
I am using the native Windows 7 software.
In the process of collecting screen shots it dedicated the hard drive. I didn't do anything differently, but I'm glad it worked.
