Windows 7: Merging Old Windows Files

Okay, so I just restored windows seven and the system saved all of my old files into a folder entitled windows.old.000
Inside that folder there are the folders of PerfLogs, Program Files, Program Files (x86), Program Data, Users, Windows
I would like to merge those together, how would I go about doing that?

Hello Kozhaikin,

Programs and drivers must be reinstalled. They cannot just be copied over since they also add many various registry entries when installed that would not get carried over by just copying the files over.

You also do not want to copy over to merge any old system files and folders.

You could copy any personal files (music, documents, etc...) you wanted from within the windows.old.000 folder back to your current installation though.

So I added a couple just to see if it worked and it didn't. Do I have to remove those, or can they just sit there unused?
