Trying to install back DVD

Hello, new here and not computer savy. My problem is that I resently loaded windows 7 ultimate 64. I had already back up my files about month earlier using Nero 7. Nero 7 will load but will not restore my back up dvds. Nero 7 did not load properly but did load. Since then I uninstalled Nero 7 and loaded a trial version of Nero 12. It will not restore my back up either. I would love to get all my files back but the main concern is my picture files. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

They could be corrupted, is there anything showing on the disks when viewed in explorer?
