cloning

Hi ok i have a few Q's
First i have an old acer d150 with a 160Gig HDD, Now i want to use that hdd for something else and i want to fit an 80 Gig Hdd in it's place ( I have programs/software on the 80Gig so i will format it before i clone )

What is the easiest/most user friendly way to clone the 160 g to the 80 g so the netbook can still be used.

Another note netbook has no optical drive.

I have downloaded clonezilla-live-2.0.1-15-i486.zip onto a 1Gig usb flash drive
Just a bit stuck on what to do next

Hum Andrew mate you have some problems for starters I have had instances where you cannot clone from large to smaller drives you would be better off to replace th 80GB with the same size as the old drive.

You could try this one Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download

Don't use clonezilla for this.
Please show disk management screenshot of 160GB disk. Is it possible to attach 160GB and 80GB disk together to same pc (can be another pc)?

Use macrium reflect free bootable CD. Select "clone disk" (under source disk). Select destination disk. Delete partitions on destination disk. You can resize destination partitions just before starting the process. Very easy. But you have to use the WINPE bootable version... not the linux one! It is downloadable (64 bits) Imaging with free Macrium

Detach 160GB disk from system after making clone. Now reboot normally.
