Data gone, unable to do a system restore after BSOD

I hope this is the right section. If not, mods, please move.

Okay, so I was just browsing the web last night, when my Asus F50S blue screened (unfortunately, I was unable to get the error down). I shut it down, and went to bed. I woke up this morning, only to find that whenever I turned on my computer, it'd be nothing but a black screen with my cursor. I shut it down again and took out the battery. After putting the battery back in, my computer started, but it offered me the choice between startup repair and starting normally. I chose startup repair, natch. I let startup repair do it's thing, and when I came back to my computer, I found that it had opened up to a desktop, but not to my desktop. Everything was gone. Downloads, music, images, documents, games. Gone. A bubble appeared in the notification area, something about "temporary desktop" or something (I'm really awful at getting down potentially vital information, apparently), and that logging out and logging back in may fix that. I did, only to notice that there was another user on my computer (I'm the only one who uses my computer, and I only have one username) called "Guest". I clicked on it and it asked for a password.

I was really weirded out at this point, so I just went in to do a system restore, but the only restore available is from just an hour earlier. I'm afraid that'll just put me back at square one, so I haven't done it yet.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
