System Restore from WinRE - what happens if it fails?

I am having a problem doing a System Restore (0x80070005) where it says that there is a file access problem probably due to my anti-virus software. After I log on it says that the changes were not made. I've tried disabling Bitdefender but that doesn't work and I read in another forum that they had to uninstall Bitdefender before the restore would work but I'm trying to avoid that.

I want to try System Restore in the Windows Recovery Mode but it says that there is no rollback created so once you do the restore you can't undo it but you can restore to another restore point.

My concern is what happens if the same error occurs. When it says that the changes didn't occur, does this mean that it was rolled back or that they didn't happen? I'm just wondering what state my computer will be in if the retore fails again while in WinRE.

My recommendation for you is write down the product key for Bitdefender (if applicable) and then uninstall it. After that, run system restore.
