Necer had a restore poiny
Sry for caps, bad eyes
Windows 7 sp2 from an original ms Windows 7 disk (but label sats oem).
Frequently says creating point or point created but can never relocate the file when needed.
After seeing a msg saying winzip registry optimizer fiexes this problem i bought and tried it. Wz restore points do work but only if you can start windows
after doing a registry optimize wz gave a restart message, after that all i could do was restart repeatedly, windows would not start, no restore points detected.
(what follows has always been present)
system repasir would run and detect 1 error on harddisk 0 but says win dir=e:\windows
which is the dvd drive from which win was originally installed.
C & d drives are 1 tb each, physical and there is an i: Partition labeled i: System reserved.
No hits for a .rst search. Where are restore points normally stored ??
Vss was stopped, just restarted it.
Fwiw my win disk will do only a custom install which overwrites all data.
