"my documents" file folder in wrong position
Somehow the file holding my documents was moved. I know where it is, but it doesn't show up in the proper place under Libraries when I look at it with Windows Explorer.
Problem: My backup program looks in C:\users\Mark S. Bacon to find files to back up. My photos and music are there and current, but the "my documents" file was missing. I copied it from the library, but now I have a duplication in the library and in C:\users and the C;|users version does not change when I modify a file in the "my documents" in the library. (What I copied was not just a link, but the entire set of documents. I had hoped I was just copying a link to the files.)
Is the solution just to make my Cobian back up look in Libraries, not C:\users? Or is there a way to put things back they way they were? Would a system restore fix the jumbled folders in C:\users and the library? That would not be my first choice of solution as I would have to reinstall some software that I've loaded since the restore point. Or would I?
I know this sounds like a mess. It doesn't hinder my computer use, but it screws up backing up.
Thanks very much.
