    restore file using Macrium Reflect free

    I have never had the need to restore deleted folders or files; so I decided to create a test folder containing a test file on my desktop. I used "image this disk" to create an image backup and then deleted the test folder.

    The instructions included in the help files do not follow exactly what I see on my computer. I have mounted an image and browsed to find the folder and the included file. Here is where the help files fail to help me. I believe I have two options, but would rather confirm the correct method before lousing something up.

    1. Drag and drop the folder or file to my desktop.
    2. Copy the folder or file to my desktop.

    Are either of these options proper, or do I need to restore the folder or file from a bootable disk? I have never used a WinPE or LInux disk for recovery either; so that is why I am questioning things first.

    Thanks for your guidance.

    Either they both do the same thing;

    Thanks. The test worked. I always use caution when instructions don't match what I see.
