    Windows Backup will not Start (0x80070422)


    Hello,

    I'm having issues running backup on my newly installed copy of W7 Pro. The problem is quite simple, and is illustrated by the image.
    Windows Backup will not Start (0x80070422)-illu.png

    As you can see, when I try to actually RUN the backup, I get an error.


    I have attempted to backup with all of the following services started.

    - "Remote Procedure Call"
    - "COM+ Event System"
    - "System Event Notification Service"
    - "Volume Shadow Copy" (this is the only one that I had to manually start)
    - "Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider"

    I assume the following is okay:
    Windows Backup will not Start (0x80070422)-feat.png

    In addition, no you have the Windows Backup service enabled and set to manual?

    No, it was set to disabled. That's crazy. Maybe I disabled it in a moment of madness? Are there any other reasons why it might be disabled?

    That's great news James.

    If you were tinkering with services, then it was most likely just disabled by mistake. :)
